Bee Happy is one of the card I make quite often. And I am really happy! :) with this, as it means more and more people choose to give this card. Which means more and more often we wish each other happiness :)
To make this card I used technique called quilling. It is a way of rolling strips of paper - using special tool - then folding them into required shapes and glue together to form a pattern.
You can make anything using this technique: flowers, animals, letters, figures, ornament patterns... Possibilities are just unlimited, as are the colours and sizes of paper strips available on the market.
You can use quilling to make your cards or just decorate them of course, but it is also a good technique used for gift tags, to decorate picture frames, or just to make a picture itself, to decorate gift bags and boxes, to list just a few examples.
I have few other projects made using this technique. Some of them you can already find in a slide show on the left hand side of this blog. The gallery is still under construction, but make sure to check back often as I will add more pictures soon :)
Coming back to quilling, this is very good technique to exercise your patience, as it is quite time consuming, especially at the beginning. But once you master it - it doesn't take that long to make few cards :) And the result - some kind of 3-dimensional - is really impressive. And, it often makes this WOW effect :) which I just love to hear my customers say :)
Just give it a try, and if you decide it is not for you anyway, there are plenty of other techniques you can use for your craft.
Happy quilling!
