Christmas in the Night of Navy

Did I tell you that apart from red, blue is my other favourite colour? :)

The one I have used for my cards comes from Rich Regals colour family (Stampin' Up!) and it's called Night of Navy.

As I am focused on Christmas now, so - you understand - I just had to make a few Christmas cards using this Night of Navy card stock ;) This colour is so rich... I just love it! :) Well, now I understand the name of the colour family - Rich Regals :) So obvious :)

In Stampin' Up! there are four, actually five colour families. And to be even more precise - I would say six colour families. Five of them (Neutrals, Bold Brights, Earth Elements, Rich Regals and Soft Subtles) are, how to say - permanent or regular - they stay the same from catalogue to catalogue, and one - called In Colour - changes from catalogue to catalogue and depends on the actual colour trends in life in general.

I don't really have my favourite colour family - I just like particular colours from each family. But if I was to choose one whole family - I would probably go for Earth Elements :) Maybe this is because my zodiac sign is Virgo, which belongs to the element Earth ;)

What are your favourite colours? And, do you know why you choose particular ones? Do you see any correlation between your favourite colours and your life or your personality?

Just think about it when crafting :)

As always - whatever your craft - Happy crafting! :)

New pictures

Just to let you know - there are pictures of new projects in my Christmas Album.

I made about 10 different small cards, using just cards stock, designer paper and stickers.

The measurements of cards are 8.0 by 10.0 cm.

I will be doing bigger ones as well.

I hope you understand red this time. It's such a Xmas colour :)

Happy crafting!

Gift tags - Christmas 1

I know it's only September, but I am slowly getting ready for Christmas :)

It looks like I will be very busy in November and December with cards and gifts... But you know what? I already can't wait for this! :)

Anyway, today I want to show you some gift tags.

I made them using just punches and stickers.

Very easy, yet so cute :)

I may do some square later as well.

I remember I have promised to use other colours than just white and red, so here you have gold stickers and green background ;)

But there is more red coming very soon! :)

Happy crafting!

All-Year Fun - Christmas

As promised before, here it is: a card made for Christmas, using All-Year Fun stamp set.

Layout very similar to the one I made for my friend's birthday - just a small difference in white card stock - and of course some other stamps from the set used for this occasion.

As you have maybe noticed, stamp with the gift box appears on both cards - Birthday and Christmas. And can be use for other occasions as well. Actually, whatever the occasion, and possibility to give present - I think it is appropriate to use this stamp. Well, no one can stop you from giving present whenever you want :) And no one can stop you from using this stamp whenever you want. So... just feel free to use it! :)

Other products (apart from stamps) used to make this card:

- By Stampin' Up!: Real Red and Whisper White card stock; Basic Black stampin' pad; 3/4'' circle punch; Real Red, Yoyo Yellow, Green Galore write markers;

- By Fiskars: new border punch - Threading Water.

Play with colours and layouts to create your own, lovely cards for different occasions!

Happy crafting!

Christmas in July - 3

I must say I am doing really well with my Christmas cards. Today I made another 3 new examples.

I used mainly green, red, white (and a little bit of yellow and some silver) stuff, as for me these are the colours that go really well with Christmas cards. And actually not only cards - most Christmas decorations are made in those colours. Well, the other thing is that red and green have become my favourite colours lately... :)

As you can see there are ribbons on all those cards. There are two reasons for this:

1. we usually use ribbons to decorate our Christmas presents, and the card is some kid of a present as well, especially a hand made one, so I thought I will add some ribbonts to those cards, and

2. I just love to tie the ribbons since I have mastered good technique for doing this.

I remember, not so long ago, I was struggling when putting the ribbon on my cards. I always wanted to do this nicely so it looks neat. But what I was doing at the beggining were just ugly knots... Well, some time has passed, i did practice a lot and... I think ribbons on my cards look really good now. Don't you think? :)

For those who still struggle with ribbons: relax and just practice a lot. And soon you are going to master it. And so you can tie your ribbons not only nicely but also economically - using only as much ribbon as it is required for your card. But if you still just can't make it - come over to one of my workshops and I will show you how to do this step by step.

Althouth my cards look very simple - all I used are different colours of card stocks cut in a different shapes, ribbons and a little bit of glitter - I made sure I use only good quality products. Well, quality always was, and actually still is a big issue in all kind of crafts, and I am going to talk about this a bit more on this blog soon.

There is something else we use to make our cards or other crafts, and I think they are the most important and valuable ones: our imagination and creativity. And the rest just follow :)

If you would like to:
- purchase any of those cards,
- purchase products I used to make them,
- sign up for a workshop or
- host a workshop at your place
